Chelsea are set to continue their summer spending and look set to beat Tottenham and Arsenal to a long-term transfer target.

The Blues have been active all summer again adding to their already inflated squad and it doesn’t look like their spending is slowing down anytime soon either.

New manager Enzo Maresca is being tasked with overseeing another big change and the sale of Conor Gallagher has already caused a big talking point among fans.

Incomings, too, have dominated headlines.

And now, it looks like Chelsea have moved again to snap up one of the Premier League’s most in-demand talents.

Chelsea to sign Pedro Neto with talks advanced

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Neto is now close to signing for Chelsea in what is an out of the blue transfer indeed.

Adding further credence to the claim here, Fabrizio Romano has said the fee for Neto will be around £60m after previous suggestions of a £55m ask from Wolves.

Pedro Neto at least improves the Chelsea XI

A lot of the issues Chelsea fans have with the signings made is they don’t necessarily improve the XI.

However, Pedro Neto is a proven Premier League player with so much potential that he is going to instantly improve things.

Yes, he plays a similar position to Cole Palmer but this could give Chelsea the chance to move Palmer into a number ten role and thrive further.

Once again though, Chelsea have shown they are not messing about in the market and quite how they can maintain this spending is another question.

With PSR challenges and the amount of players signed, it’s getting to the point where Chelsea will be getting questioned from everywhere.

As for Neto, he’ll relish the chance of moving to a big club like Chelsea and he’ll be hoping to put his injuries behind him to show his worth.

Chelsea have seen off a number of clubs to land Neto, with Arsenal big fans of him and Tottenham continually linked with a move for the winger.
