One developing situation at Arsenal right now is Gabriel Magalhaes’ contract situation, with the Gunners looking to tie him down to a new deal.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all interested in the defender, so it’s important to tie him down.

Gabriel Magalhaes set to make big demand in contract talks with Arsenal

Gabriel currently has the upper hand over Arsenal in contract talks. He knows a few big clubs are watching the situation and will no doubt be willing to meet his demands.

The central defender has established himself as one of the best central defenders in world football over the past season or so, and Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Gabriel is even better than William Saliba.

Interestingly, Charles Watts has been speaking about the contract situation at Arsenal on his YouTube channel and revealed a demand the defender could make.

“When you look at where Gabriel is now from where he was in 2022. And when you look at the type of contract William Saliba has signed quite recently, compared to the type of contract Gabriel would’ve signed, you can see why he absolutely warrants a new deal.

“It’s one of the best centre back partnerships in world football, if not the best centre back partnership in world football. His centre back partner is on a lot of money, Gabriel would have seen that, Gabriel’s representatives would have seen that when Saliba got that new contract.

“And will rightly be saying to Arsenal during these talks which at the moment are going on, say he’s on this, we’ll these two are a pair.

“Gabriel’s a little bit older but is still a top, top player and there will be plenty of clubs keeping an eye on him. They will be aware, so they’re in a very strong position in terms of negotiating with Arsenal.”

William Saliba’s new contract at Arsenal

William Saliba signed a new four-year contract last summer which saw him receive a significant pay rise from his previous deal, with the Frenchman now on £190,000 a week.

Gabriel Magalhaes currently finds himself on £100,000 a week at Arsenal.

The Gunners will be wary of handing out too much money to players having seen how things have gone at Manchester United, but Gabriel is the kind of player who deserves a £90k pay rise for his efforts.

He’s only 26 years of age with his best years ahead of him, and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have money coming out of their ears, so giving him £200k and above won’t be an issue.
