Celtic fans react to Faria links in new manager hunt
A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Record this week claiming that talks have been held with Rui Faria as they look for their new manager.
Much to the Hoops fans’ frustrations, the Bhoys are still on the lookout for their new boss.
After their pursuit of Eddie Howe ended, it appeared that Ange Postecoglou was set to be the man tasked with succeeding Neil Lennon at Parkhead.
The Daily Record reported this week that Celtic remain confident of appointing Postecoglou. However, another name has now been thrown into the mix.
According to the Daily Record, tentative talks with Faria have taken place. It is noted that he is keen on the job.
Faria is a free agent after a spell with Al-Duhail. He previously spent the majority of his coaching career as Jose Mourinho’s assistant.
‘Would be more happy with this’: Some Celtic fans want Faria as next manager
Admittedly, at that time, there was a lot of disappointment around over the club’s failure to secure Howe. And more is now known about the 55-year-old.
However, it does appear that Faria would be a more popular choice. Some believe that he would be a better option.
There are some concerns about the Portuguese. But it does appear that some fans would rather Faria than Postecoglou.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to the links…
Guy has worked with one of the very best and all over Europe knows the European scene unlike the guy from Oz would be more happy with this appointment HH🍀

I’d be happier with faria

I’d take him. He’s in Europe, won’t need badges, quarantine, compensation etc and can make up for lost time

Please forget about hiring that Aussie farmer… Rui Faria is a coach who I would take ahead of a guy who’s never managed at a decent level! Leave the guy in Japan!

Won trophies everywhere he went as Mourinho assistant will have tuns of experience and would get the defence sorted out with his style of play don’t think that suits Celtic but I’d rather him come in than that guy from Australia
