Celtic fans react on Twitter to Troy Deeney links

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports claiming that the Hoops keen on signing Troy Deeney this summer.

Deeney looks set to leave Watford in this window. The Hornets confirmed on their official website last week that they were holding talks with their captain about his future.

And according to the Sunday Mirror (29/8; page 66), the Hoops are one of the sides in the running. It was also suggested that Birmingham City are also keen.

As noted by The Athletic, it would appear that the Blues are leading the race. The two clubs are in talks over a move for the boyhood Birmingham fan.

And it would seem that some will be over the moon if he ends up heading to the Midlands instead of Parkhead.

Several Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the links. And some are clearly not happy about the prospect of the 33-year-old coming in.

Admittedly, he is coming towards the end of his career. And it is probably not the most exciting move Celtic could make after what has been an incredibly productive window.

But interestingly, others are much more excited about the prospect of Celtic signing Deeney. It does appear that he still has plenty to offer in his career.
