Celtic are reportedly interested in battling Lazio to sign Sporting Lisbon right-back Valentin Rosier. The Frenchman has been on loan at Besiktas during 2020-21, helping the Turkish side win the Super Lig on goal difference. Now, Celtic are keen and Hoops fans have reacted on Twitter.

Rosier, 24, joined Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2019 but only made 16 appearances with the Portuguese outfit in his first season. It has seen him loaned to Besiktas for 2020-21. His form was excellent, playing 37 times. He helped Besiktas win the league, and had a hand in 10 goals.

Now, Celtic are keen. Fotomac report that the Hoops want to bring him to Scotland with Jeremie Frimpong joining Leverkusen last January. A permanent deal for Jonjoe Kenny from Everton looks unlikely. A report from The Laziali, though, claims Celtic are not alone in their pursuit.

What are Celtic fans saying about Rosier?

Maurizio Sarri, the ex-Chelsea gaffer who is now at Lazio, wants him. The report claims that Besiktas are likely to sign him permanently, striking the £3.5million agreement they boast. Then, the Turkish club will look to make a quick profit – selling in the region of £5million and £6million.

Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that they could sign Rosier. Many believe he would be an excellent signing as they await Ange Postecoglou’s first transfer business as Celtic boss. One described a move for Rosier has a “huge coup”.
