Turkish outlet Fotomac have claimed that Celtic have joined the race to sign Sporting Lisbon right-back Valentin Rosier. The Frenchman has spent the last season on loan at Besiktas, helping his club win the Turkish Super Lig on goal difference. Now, the Hoops are interested.
Rosier, 24, joined Sporting in the summer of 2019 from Dijon but after just 16 appearances in his first season – he moved to Besiktas on loan. Since then, he has starred for the Turkish champions. Clocking up 37 appearances from right-back, Rosier has won the title and had a hand in 10 goals.
The Laziali are also keen and a report from the Italian site states that Besiktas could sign him for £3.5million – and sell him for a larger fee. That could be in the region of £5million and £6million. Celtic are interested, but it remains to be seen if they will spend that kind of figure on a defender.

Rosier would be a stunning Celtic signing
He is exactly what Celtic need at right-back. Not only is he excellent going forward, and a title-winner, but he is also defensively solid. He is still young, plays with flair can do a job as a defensive right-midfielder if required. He has European experience, too.
For a fee that could be less than £6million, Rosier would be a brilliant first addition for Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic. Can Celtic get him? It will be a big ask, especially if Maurizio Sarri wants him at Lazio.
