Celtic have reportedly emerged as an option for Honduras international Alberth Elis this summer. The winger is well-known to Celtic fans having been linked with a move to Parkhead in the past – and now, the Boavista winger is a target for the Hoops. Celtic fans want him signed.

Elis, 25, joined Portuguese side Boavista last summer from MLS outfit Houston Dynamo – where he engineered fan favourite status. In 101 games for the American club, he had a hand in 63 goals. Now, he is impressing in Portugal – producing 15 goal involvements in 32 games.

Such form has seen Celtic become interested – but they face competition from two Premier League clubs. A Bola claim Celtic are battling West Ham and Southampton for the 42-time international’s signature. It is claimed he would cost interested parties a fee in the region of £8.5million.

What have Celtic fans said about the reported interest in Elis?

Just this week, Elis stated that he is looking to leave Boavista after just one year in Portugal – telling Mais Futebol: “I finished the season well at Boavista, that’s why there are teams interested in me. Most likely, I will leave Boavista. My goal is to continue to evolve and look for bigger teams.”

Now, Celtic fans have responded on Twitter to the reports that Celtic could look to pip the likes of Southampton and West Ham to his signature. While some Celtic fans are dubious over the links with Elis, many believe he would be a good addition to Ange Postecoglou’s side.
