Carlo Ancelotti has discussed the future of Eden Hazard over the weekend, amid reports both Newcastle and Chelsea have been offered the winger.
Hazard, 30, is struggling to rediscover his best form at Real Madrid – since joining the club from Chelsea in 2019. He got just five minutes on Saturday.
Clocking up 60 appearances for Madrid since his move to Spain, Hazard has scored a measly five goals. An average of one every 12 outings.
Simply put, it is not good enough – given his transfer fee and wages. ESPN say Madrid have offered Hazard to numerous Premier League sides.
Two of those clubs include that of Chelsea and Newcastle United. The latter clearly have the financial clout to bring a player like Hazard to the club.
Asked about Hazard’s future after his brief cameo during the 2-1 win over Elche, Ancelotti appeared to suggest that Hazard can leave Madrid.
“Never in my career as a coach have I forced a player to stay when they want to leave,” Ancelotti told reporters, when asked about Hazard.

Ancelotti on Hazard: Could Newcastle really sign Madrid star?
There is one big stumbling block in a potential Newcastle move for Hazard. But most signs are that a deal is possible. Madrid are keen to let him go.
Ancelotti does little to hide that. While their finances are much better than Barcelona’s, they will want to maintain that. Hazard is on enormous money.
But he is not proving value for money, not even close. He is expendable. Newcastle will be keen to make a big-name signing and Hazard fits the bill.
But the stumbling block lies with the player himself. Does Hazard really want to move to Tyneside? Money talks, but only so far.
