Arsenal training must be at such a high standard these days.
The Gunners are genuinely one of the best teams in the world right now, and their improvement over the last two years has to start on the training ground.
Mikel Arteta’s side train with serious intensity, and sometimes, that intensity can boil over to aggression.
Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has shared some insight into Arsenal training.
Clarke recently had a conversation with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka about life at Arsenal, and he says that all three players told him that training can be brutal at times.
Clarke, inevitably, asked who the worst player was in training for playing with aggression, and apparently the unanimous answer was that Thomas Partey was the player who can leave a bit on his opponents.

Thomas Partey is a hard tackler in training
Clarke shared what Saka told him about Partey.
“They were basically saying to me that it is brutal. They don’t kick lumps out of each other, but it is as forceful as it can be. So I said who is the worst?
“All of them at the same time said it was Thomas Partey, which I thought was really interesting, yeah, Bukayo said he’s always coming for him in training.”
Bukayo Saka needs protecting
If there’s any player you don’t want to hear this about, it’s Bukayo Saka.
Saka needs protection. After all, he is kicked from pillar to post every weekend by his opponents.
Saka is often forced to limp off during games, and it feels like he’s often lucky to escape injury.
Mikel Arteta has been criticised for over-using Saka, and if Partey is continuously gunning for him in training, that won’t help.
Partey needs to slow down a bit in these training sessions, because the last thing Arsenal need is an unnecessary injury to a key player.
