Bukayo Saka has posted on Instagram after netting his first senior goal for England on Wednesday night, as the Three Lions beat Austria. In a pretty flat performance, Saka netted just before the hour mark into an open goal. Plenty have replied to Saka on Instagram, including Jack Grealish.

Saka, 19, tapped home from a tight-ish angle after Jesse Lingard’s gorgeous first-time pass had played in Grealish. A last-ditch tackle from Austria denied the Aston Villa captain, but the ball fell to Saka who tapped home. It was Saka’s fifth cap for England, since his debut under Gareth Southgate.

England were not at their best as Austria could have easily equalised towards the end. The impressive Marcel Sabitzer curled a left-footed effort off the bar, while Ben Godfrey almost scored a bizarre own goal when passing back to Jordan Pickford. But England held on at the Riverside.

Saka posted on Instagram, underlining his delight at finding the back of the net. He spoke of how netting for England’s senior team has been a dream for him since he was a child. It tops off a brilliant couple of weeks for Saka, who has been included in Southgate’s 26-man squad.

Grealish does not actually touch the ball when played in first time by Lingard. He is inches away from prodding the ball towards goal before it falls to Saka to score. Arsenal fans were impressed by Saka’s performance on Twitter. Meanwhile, Grealish – who has been loosely linked with Arsenal – sent a four-word message to Saka on the latter’s Instagram post.
