Bruno Guimaraes wants Miguel Almiron to win PL player of the month
Bruno Guimaraes has taken to Twitter to react to being nominated for the Premier League player of the month, asking the fans to vote instead for Newcastle United teammate Miguel Almiron.
It is no surprise to see three Magpies stars in the running for the award. Kieran Trippier has also been included in the eight-man list which also recognises the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
Eddie Howe’s men have been outstanding so far this season. And they have now won five of their last six games in the Premier League. Those performances have taken the side to fourth in the table. And they are arguably playing some of the most exciting football in the division.
Bruno Guimaraes wants Miguel Almiron named as player of the month
Guimaraes and Trippier absolutely deserve their nominations. However, the Brazilian midfielder has taken to Twitter with something of a request for their supporters.
He has asked the fans to instead vote for Almiron, insisting that the 28-year-old deserves the award the most…
Very proud to be running for the best of the month again, but I wanted to ask you to vote from miggy, even if me and @trippier2 are doing well, miggy is living his dreams 🖤🤍 https://t.co/rBtSNrK3GI

Almiron has been a revelation of late. He has now scored six goals in his last six appearances for Newcastle. Only four players in the Premier League have found the back of the net more often.
No-one could have any complaints if he now takes the award. And Bruno is perhaps wary of splitting the vote, with some Newcastle fans likely to vote for himself and Trippier.
It is a classy touch. Of course, the winner of the October player of the month award may be forgotten about by the end of the campaign.
But it says everything about the team spirit on Tyneside right now. They are battling for each other. And there are no troublesome egos in the ranks.
Even as a neutral, it is hard to not now want Almiron to come out on top.
