Bruno Guimaraes was amongst those to laud Gabriel Magalhaes on Instagram after Arsenal continued their push to finish inside the top-four in the Premier League with a win on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta’s men have enjoyed a much better February after failing to win last month. They went into the clash with Brentford off the back of a huge victory away at Wolves.

It was not easy for the Gunners against the Bees, who of course, won when the pair met on the opening night of the season. But ultimately, they got the job done.
Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka put Arsenal 2-0 in front. And while Thomas Frank’s side did get one back in stoppage-time, the Gunners were able to see out the contest and get another valuable three points.

The result leaves Arsenal sixth in the table. However, they have three games in hand over West Ham in fifth. And it will be a similar story once Manchester United play Leeds on Sunday.
Right now, they find themselves one point back of Ralf Rangnick’s men. It certainly looks destined to be a shootout between Arsenal and Tottenham for that top-four spot.
Following the game, Gabriel took to Instagram to comment on the victory. And amongst those to reply was Guimaraes, with his message translating as: ‘good brother’.

Will Arsenal fans rue not getting chance to see Gabriel and Bruno Guimaraes play together?
It is not a huge surprise to see the Newcastle star congratulate Gabriel. The pair were involved with Brazil’s under-23 side at a similar time. They also spent around six months together in Ligue 1 following Guimaraes’ move to Lyon in January 2020.
Interestingly, had events played out differently in January, the pair could have ended up as teammates at Arsenal. It certainly appears that the Gunners wanted Guimaraes.
Arsenal are currently crying out for more options in midfield. So plenty of their supporters will be wondering if they will ultimately rue not signing Guimaraes before his switch to St James’.
