Everton could reportedly miss out on a prolific striker this summer with a Brazilian offering a contract for the 22-goal attacker.
Centre-forwards are once again on the agenda for the Toffees this summer, with Everton already signing former Sheffield United striker Iliman Ndiaye from Olympique Marseille, with Neal Maupay also back from his successful loan spell at Brentford.
Despite these additions this window, Everton are still interested in adding to their attacking ranks, with rumours again suggesting that Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be on the move, as Newcastle United ready a move for the striker.
Yet there’s one rumoured target who Everton could now miss out on this summer.

Everton could miss out on Martin Braithwaite due to Gremio
According to Santi Aouna, Brazillian giants Gremio have made a contract offer to sign rumoured Everton target Martin Braithwaite, with the journalist writing: “Gremio sent an official offer to Martin Braithwaite 18 months contract. Talks ongoing.”
The Toffees have been linked with the RCD Espanyol striker, who last season scored an impressive 22 goals in the Segunda Division, with Everton looking to bring Braithwaite back to England on the cheap this summer.
Indeed, Sean Dyche’s style of play favours an old-school centre-forward who is willing to bully defenders whilst also having an immense aerial presence, something Braithwaite can provide in spades if he was to move to Goodison Park.
However, with an 18-month contract from Gremio now on the table, Everton will have to act fast if they’re to secure the signing of Braithwaite, who could be tempted with a new change of scenery in Brazil.

Toffees need to table their own contract offer to sign Braithwaite
At 33-years-old, Braithwaite has one big career move left in him after an incredible year with Espanyol, and Everton could well be the team that ends up signing the Danish striker this summer.
However, the Toffees’ interest could all be for nothing if they fail to table their own contract offer for Braithwaite, which could easily eclipse anything Gremio have put down for the striker.
Braithwaite has shown he can do the business in a top division in La Liga with Leganes and FC Barcelona, and Everton could be an ideal final move for the attacker if the Merseyside giants make their play to land the forward.
