Brad Friedel has admitted he’s excited at the prospect of Antonio Conte taking charge at his former club Tottenham.
This week speculation has intensified over the vacant manager’s spot at Spurs.
According to Football London, as relayed by The Boot Room, 51-year-old manager Conte is set to be appointed the new boss at Spurs.
Conte is now available after leaving Inter Milan, and he exited the Italian giants after winning them the Serie A league title.
He’s a lively manager who’s known for his passion and energy from the sidelines. Meanwhile, his teams are tactically astute and difficult to beat.
The north London club are still waiting to announce Jose Mourinho’s full-time successor, but it sounds like that moment is close.
Ex-Spurs goalkeeper Friedel has given his verdict on Conte:
“I think it would be a really good signing… He’s a proven winner. He knows the Premier League from his time at Chelsea. I think it would be excellent for Tottenham if someone like Conte came in,” he said.

Conte a stunning coup for Tottenham
Conte’s CV speaks for itself, so Spurs fans should be really excited about his reportedly-imminent arrival.
He previously enjoyed big success in England by winning the Premier League with Chelsea, and in his career, he’s shown he can take a team from a good one to a great one.
Spurs, along with a few of their Premier League rivals, are trying to appoint a new manager.
Conte joining Spurs will be the story of the summer if it goes through.
He’s going to have a massive job on his hands though, as it’s a squad that needs a fair few tweaks to be challenging the Premier League’s best.
