Liverpool will be intrigued to see what Danny Cowley has had to say about Manchester City loanee Gavin Bazunu to Sky Sports amid reports that the Reds want the goalkeeper.
Bazunu has been superb for Portsmouth this term. He has started all but two of their League One games since moving to Fratton Park.

No goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets in the third tier than the Republic of Ireland international, according to FB Ref. Meanwhile, he is fifth for the best save percentage.
His form is not only attracting admiring glances from his parent club. But City’s Premier League rivals are also taking note of his efforts.
It was recently reported that the Reds are monitoring the 19-year-old. And those at Anfield may be very interested in what Cowley has now said about Bazunu after the Pompey boss was named manager of the month.

“Gavin can be whatever he wants to be,” he told Sky Sports. “He’s an outstanding goalkeeper and an even better human being. He has an elite mindset and is so focused and driven.
“He wakes up every day wanting to improve, and it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to have him with us in this short period. We look forward to him continuing to do really well for us and himself, and we’re so excited for his future.”
Liverpool face uphill battle luring Bazunu away from Manchester City
The report detailing Liverpool’s interest also noted that Manchester City want to hand Bazunu a new contract. And in truth, it is surely going to be incredibly difficult for the Reds to lure him away from the Etihad Stadium.
Plenty of Liverpool fans insisted that he would be a superb signing. Some believe that he would be an upgrade on Caoimhin Kelleher. And obviously, Cowley’s comments may back that up.
But if Bazunu is going to leave City, he will surely want regular game-time. Liverpool cannot offer that with Alisson in place.
But the praise from his current boss does show why the Reds may well ask the question.
