BBC pundit Martin Keown raved about reported Tottenham Hotspur target Denzel Dumfries during his brilliant World Cup display for Holland yesterday.
Spurs could be in the market to upgrade Antonio Conte’s options at right-wing back in January. Both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been underwhelming so far this season, while summer signing Djed Spence has barely played.
Tuttosport recently claimed that one wing-back that has caught Conte’s eye is Inter Milan’s Dumfries.
The 26-year-old only completed a switch to Italy from PSV last summer but he’s been really impressive for the Nerazzurri.
Now, the Dutchman is enjoying a brilliant World Cup and put in a Man of the Match display for Louis van Gaal’s men yesterday.

Keown raves about Dumfries
Holland beat USMNT 3-1 yesterday and Dumfries was in inspired form as he grabbed himself a goal after providing two assists.
Keown raved about the Inter wing-back during BBC’s coverage of the game after he delivered an excellent ball into the box in the 50th minute.
Dumfries raced away down the right-hand side and his pinpoint cross nearly resulted in Holland taking a three-goal lead. And the Arsenal legend was full of praise for the Dutchman.
“It’s Dumfries again on that right-hand side, blistering pace. He just whips a ball in there,” he said.

Of course, USMNT ended up getting a goal back after Dumfries had created two goals for Holland.
But the wing-back rounded off an impressive win with a brilliant finish on his weaker foot in the 81st minute.
Conte evidently needs to upgrade the quality of his options on the right-hand side and Dumfries would certainly fit the bill.
The Inter man plays in the wing-back role for both club and country but he is attracting interest from Spurs’ rivals Chelsea.
It’s clear that Spurs will need to have a rethink over their right wing-back options and Dumfries seems like an ideal option to improve their quality in the role.
