'Better than signing Mbappe': Jose Enrique reacts to exciting rumour coming out Liverpool today
Jose Enrique has just delivered his verdict on some exciting news coming out of Liverpool about Jurgen Klopp’s future beyond the end of his contract.
The German was appointed as the Reds boss all the way back in October 2015. Over the past six-and-a-half years, he has well and truly transformed Liverpool, helping them win the Champions League and Premier League, and making the club one of the best sides in the world.
Liverpool are yet again on the road to making history. The Reds are in with a chance of winning the quadruple this season, which would be a truly remarkable achievement.
Klopp is the man behind all the success and it looks like he’s now ready to pen a new deal.
Jose Enrique reacts to rumours about a new contract for Jurgen Klopp
The Athletic revealed earlier today that Liverpool’s owners FSG are increasingly confident of tying down Klopp to a new contract. The German’s current deal expires in the summer of 2024, which is just over a couple of years away.
Liverpool fans simply cannot imagine another manager at the helm at Anfield and rightly so. Klopp has become a legend of the club and keeping hold of him has to be their biggest priority.
Jose Enrique completely agrees with that assessment and he feels signing Klopp to a new deal would be even better for Liverpool than signing Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the same window.
“If this is true is better than signing Mbappe and Haaland at the same time. Best signing for us it will be,” the former Reds full-back wrote on Instagram.
Signing Mbappe and Haaland in the same window would be extraordinary for any club but if given a choice, most Liverpool fans would pick Klopp extending his stay over landing the two superstars.
Liverpool are an incredible team because of the German. His tactics alone are up there with the best in the world, but the energy he brings and the belief he puts in his side make him a truly special manager.
Reds fans will be hoping that can strike a deal with Klopp to extend his stay at the club beyond 2024.
If the German agrees to a new deal, he will be extending his stay at the club to over a decade, which is an incredible achievement on its own.
