'Better get a start': Some Arsenal fans react to footage of 22-year-old in training
A number of Arsenal fans have welcomed footage of Gunners newcomer Takehiro Tomiyasu in training at London Colney.
The 22-year-old is likely to make his first appearance for Arsenal in today’s Premier League meeting with Norwich.
Arsenal signed Tomiyasu – who was also linked with Spurs – on transfer deadline day for a reported £16million.
After the international break, the Japan international met Gunners boss Mikel Arteta for the first time on Thursday.
On Friday, Arsenal’s Twitter feed shared footage of Tomiyasu’s first training session with his new teammates.
Tomiyasu reportedly received his work permit on Thursday evening, which would enable him to face Norwich.
And the Gunners have seemingly dropped a few hints regarding the defender’s spot in the team.
On Friday, the north Londoners posted images of Tomiyasu in red and white, with the captions “ready in red” and “time for Tomi”.
Needless to say, Arsenal fans are excited about the prospect of Tomiyasu starting:
