Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was full of praise for Kai Havertz following his side’s winner against Luton Town last night.

The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to five points after a dramatic late winner from Declan Rice. The Englishman deserves a ton of praise for his display, but Havertz was brilliant too, and Arsenal manager Arteta hailed him after the game.

Mikel Arteta says Kai Havertz had his best game ever for Arsenal last night

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the summer, and the German came under a lot of criticism for the way he started the season.

The 24-year-old really struggled in the first couple of months. He looked so out of place in the Gunners’ midfield, and fans were scratching their heads about why Mikel Arteta continued to stick with him.

However, over the last few weeks, Havertz has looked like a completely different player. He has been brilliant for the Gunners and has now scored three goals in his last four games.

After another fantastic performance last night against Luton, Arteta was asked about Havertz, and the Gunners boss was full of praise.

He said, as per Arsenal.com: “They (Havertz and Gabriel Jesus) have different qualities and complement each other really well.

“I thought Kai played his best game, he’s getting better and better. That’s what we need, players that start to raise the level and get in a good moment because we’re going to need players as we’re losing a lot at the moment.”

Kai Havertz was Arsenal’s best player last night

Several Arsenal players performed brilliantly against Luton Town last night.

Declan Rice made the headlines for his 97th-minute winner, Gabriel Jesus had a tremendous game, Ben White picked up a fantastic assist, and Bukayo Saka was great as usual.

However, we feel Havertz made the biggest difference for Arsenal last night. His run to free up space for Jesus’ goal was incredibly intelligent, and his movement for his own strike was brilliant as well.

Havertz is showing everyone why Arteta was so adamant to sign him in the summer. If he continues like this, he could end up becoming a huge player for the Gunners this season.
