Spain started their Euro 2020 campaign with a goalless draw against Sweden on Monday night – and some Leeds United fans on Twitter responded to criticise international boss Luis Enrique for the decision to leave out Rodrigo Moreno out of his squad.
Spain could only manage a 0-0 draw in the Euro group stage match, despite having 85 per cent possession. However, a lack of ruthlessness in the attacking third cost them.
Spain manager Enrique already made the strange choice not to fill 26 positions for the European Championships. Therefore, any mistakes will mean pressure is intensified on him.
For example, Leeds attacker Rodrigo was left out by his country this summer.
The left-footer has eight goals in 25 caps for Spain. But, Enrique decide to overlook him for the forward positions.
He played in a Nations League game back in October for Spain before missing some games through injury. However, it looked like he had boosted his chances of going to the Euros by finishing the 2020/21 campaign in strong form for Leeds.

Leeds striker Rodrigo desperately unlucky not to be with Spain
In truth, it wasn’t the perfect first season for Rodrigo in a Leeds shirt. The fact he’s not with the Spain group this summer though is unfortunate.
He would’ve been a perfect option last night for Enrique off the bench, but he’s sat at home watching.
The 30-year-old frontman has the ability to turn it on, so moving forward in the tournament Enrique may rue the decision even more.
A selection of Leeds supporters on social media ended up slamming the Spain manager during the Sweden fixture for leaving out their attacker.
