Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has been seriously impressed with the form of winger Crysencio Summerville.

Speaking ahead of Leeds’ match against Crystal Palace, via Leeds Live, Marsch was asked about the 20-year-old.

Summerville was awarded a new contract ahead of the start of the season, and rewarded with the number ten shirt.

A Leeds Live report before the season started suggested that Marsch was likely to play Summerville more this season.

However, Summerville has only appeared in three Premier League matches this season.

He’s yet to start in the league, and has only been given opportunities to star off the bench.

Summerville came on in a difficult situation against Aston Villa last weekend, with his side down to ten men.

However, Tony Dorigo told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he thought Summerville was getting better.

And judging by Marsch’s most recent comments, he agrees after being impressed with Summerville.

Marsch impressed by Summerville

Speaking ahead of today’s game, Marsch said: “We feel Cry Summerville is in the best form since I’ve been here.”

It’s an exciting claim to make from Marsch and suggests Leeds fans might be seeing more of Summerville soon.

Capable of playing on either wing, Summerville is an agile and tricky attacker.

Predominantly right-footed, Summerville is capable of delivering dangerous crosses, or cutting inside to create an opportunity for himself.

He’s yet to score his first senior goal for Leeds, but has been brilliant in the under-21s.

In fact, a report from Leeds Live earlier this season suggested he was ‘clearly too good for this level’.

Summerville will be hoping for more first-team opportunities at Elland Road soon.

If he can’t break into Marsch’s plans, then a loan move in January could be a good option.

However, Marsch has clearly been impressed by what he’s seen from Summerville.

He could get another chance to shine away at Crystal Palace today.
