'Showtime': Ben White takes to Instagram with England snap; Phillips, Ayling and others react

Ben White will hope to land a place in the final 26-man England squad tomorrow and he’s taken to Instagram to show off his new attire.

The Brighton defender has built on an impressive season on loan with Leeds in the Championship. Deployed as part of the back three by Graham Potter, White has excelled at times for the Seagulls.

White has also been played in midfield at times by Potter. His ability on the ball, seemingly one of the big reasons he’s caught the eye of Gareth Southgate.

The likelihood is that White will miss out on the final 26. However, it’s great for the defender to get the England nod in general, and he took to Instagram to show off some pictures of himself in Three Lions training.

The young defender has been linked with moves to some of the ‘bigger’ clubs in the Premier League. The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited with an interest, as covered by TBR previously.

White is clearly a popular player, too, by the looks of the replies to his Instagram post.

Former teammates such as Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips were quick to reply. As were current Brighton colleagues, Adam Lallana and Adam Webster.

It’s expected that White’s call by Gareth Southgate here could well open the door for future England calls. And in fairness to White, they’d be deserved if he can keep the form he’s shown this season going.
