Ben White sends Saka message as Arsenal beat West Brom
Ben White has praised Bukayo Saka on Instagram after Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion 6-0 in the Carabao Cup.
What’s the story?
The Gunners registered their first win and goals of the season.
A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hat-trick and strikes from Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette and Saka secured a massive victory.
It sealed the north Londoners’ passage into the third round, where they will face AFC Wimbledon.
Saka endured a nightmare summer for England during Euro 2020. The winger missed the crucial penalty in the shootout defeat to Italy in the final. He was then subjected to disgusting racist abuse on social media as a result of his miss.
The 19-year-old has continued where he left off last season, scoring a delightful goal versus the Baggies.
Saka was full of delight after his goal on Instagram…
And he received a two-word reply from the Gunners’ summer signing, White…
Saka needs to press on for Arsenal after difficult summer
It would be easy for the Gunners youngster to drop his head after a tough few months. However, that would not be in keeping with the attitude the young star has shown during his time in the first team.
Saka needs to press on for Arsenal following his goal versus West Brom. His appearances during the losses to Brentford and Chelsea were worrying.
The Hale End academy star was not his usual self in either of those defeats.
Against Thomas Tuchel’s men, Saka failed to complete a single dribble.
The England international has built a reputation for taking on opposition defences, no matter who he is playing. So, when he fails to, questions need to be asked even if Arsenal lost.
He could still be facing the effects of a long summer, but the youngster needs to forget it and kick on.
