Ben Parker makes prediction about ‘quick’ 19-year-old Leeds prospect

Ben Parker is predicting that Leeds United prospect Crysencio Summerville is going to be around the senior squad during the 2021/22 season.

Parker is keen not to apply too much pressure on him, but it’s obvious he rates him extremely highly.

Summerville is an exciting young winger that moved to Yorkshire back in 2020 and has built his reputation up during the last year in the Whites Under-23s side.

The 19-year-old is a skilful wide player that is direct in possession and a real goal threat. He scored for the Under-23s on Monday in the Premier League 2 fixture against Crystal Palace.

Summerville is yet to make his first-team debut for Leeds. However, he did impress while playing regularly during pre-season. Also, he was named on the bench against Manchester United at the weekend for the Premier League opener.

7 Footballers Who Had Incredibly Misleading Debuts

Parker has given a glowing verdict on the “quick” teenager:

“Summerville, he just played the first 45 [against Crystal Palace]. He scored a great goal. Again, looked sharp. I thought he’s looked sharp all pre-season. He’s looked really good,” Parker told the LS11 podcast.

“Of course he’s a bright prospect. He’s quick, direct. He’s got a goal in him. But, let’s not put loads of pressure on.

“I expect him to be in and around the first team. He is certainly a bright prospect and nearly every single time I’ve watched him with the Under-23s he’s growing and growing and getting better and better.

“He’s not the biggest of lads, so he’s had to have a slight adjustment to English football. He’s flying at the moment.”

Crysencio Summerville one for Leeds fans to watch out for

Summerville has looked really impactful during pre-season, so it’s no surprise to see him deliver in the Under-23s team against Palace.

The dazzling winger is clearly on Bielsa’s radar after featuring on the bench at Old Trafford. However, he may need to be patient waiting for his competitive debut for Leeds.

There is plenty of competition on the wings, but for now he should be studying Raphinha’s game closely to try help improve his own game.
