Arsenal and Tottenham will now have to wait until the 14th of January to meet next in the Premier League, after their first encounter of the season this past weekend.
Thanks to a Gabriel Magalhaes header, Mikel Arteta‘s side came out on top at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
One player who Shay Given wasn’t particularly happy with is Guglielmo Vicario, who he believes is seen as a weakness for Spurs from corners.
That wasn’t all that came out after the game as Richard Keys slammed Cristian Romero for his comments on travel prior to the North London derby, stating that it cannot be an excuse.
It was mostly a positive reaction for Arsenal. Ian Wright was quick to praise Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, who the former striker believes are the Gunners’ two best players.
However, there was one thing that Ben Foster spotted during the North London derby that he didn’t like involving both managers…

Ange Postecoglou and Mikel Arteta’s moment before Arsenal vs Tottenham kick-off
Ange Postecoglou will have headed into this one with high hopes after hearing of Martin Odegaard’s injury and Declan Rice’s suspension.
But, it didn’t go to plan for him, and even right from the start it seems as if both managers were trying to get the upper hand on each other.
When speaking on his YouTube channel, The Cycling GK, Ben Foster stated that he wasn’t happy with a moment shared between Arteta and Postecoglou just before kick-off in the North London derby.
“It’s alpha male, it’s body language. It’s horrible. It’s not nice is it, you see them doing it. Like a pat on the back of the head or Jose Mourinho’s kisses and stuff like that.
“No I don’t like it, just shake your hand well done and all the rest. It’s a powerplay.”
What’s next for Postecoglou and Mikel Arteta
Arsenal and Tottenham are straight back into action midweek with games in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup respectively.
The Gunners are set to face Atalanta in their opening game of the Champions League’s new format tomorrow night.
Arteta received a positive boost ahead of the game with an insider claiming that Mikel Merino will be back soon as he continues his recovery.
Tottenham fans will get a closer look at some of their youngsters ahead of their clash with Coventry City.
The likes of Mikey Moore, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray could all be set to start.
