Journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared the details of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele’s loan move to Napoli.

The 25-year-old French international is set to leave Spurs on loan once again, but it might be for the final time on this occasion.

Romano believes that Napoli will cover the main part of Ndombele’s salary, which is believed to be £200,000-a-week, and also pay a £800k loan fee this season.

The Serie A side will then have an option to buy the midfielder for £25.3m next summer, less than half than Ndombele initial transfer fee when he joined Spurs.

Ndombele would become the latest of Spurs’ unwanted quartet to leave the club, after Giovani Lo Celso agreed a return to Villarreal on loan, with Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon still waiting for the right offer to leave.

It’s certainly a case of unfulfilled potential for Ndombele at Tottenham.

The midfielder is still Tottenham’s record transfer, but has managed less than 100 appearances in all competitions for the north London side.

Ndombele had spells in and out of Tottenham’s team under various managers, but only played seven times under Antonio Conte, who decided the 25-year-old wasn’t in his plans.

Several Premier League sides looked at Ndombele this summer, but a fresh start away from England might be the best option for him, and a return to the Champions League could see him fulfil his potential against his parent club.

Ndombele could line up with former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in midfield, another player who broke his club’s transfer record but only showed his ability in glimpses while in England.

A move to Naples brought the best out in Anguissa, who’s deal was made permanent this summer, and will be the blueprint for Ndombele to follow to get back to his best, and possibly make a late attempt to return to the France squad ahead of the World Cup.
