BBC pundit Clinton Morrison has urged Chelsea to sign Callum Wilson from Newcastle United in the coming days.
The Blues had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa last night. Emi Martinez saved Unai Emery’s side on a couple of occasions, but Mauricio Pochettino will know that a prolific striker could make a serious difference. Morrison thinks Wilson would be a bargain at £18 million.

Chelsea urged to sign Newcastle striker Callum Wilson
Chelsea have been linked with several big-name strikers over the last few months, but the surprise name to come out of the rumour mill this week is Callum Wilson.
The Evening Standard reported a few days ago that the striker could be sold for £18 million before next week’s deadline and his availability has alerted Arsenal, Manchester United and Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
The Blues don’t have a prolific striker. Yes, Nicolas Jackson is good on his day, but he’s not ready to be the main man up front.
After watching the Blues fail to score a goal last night, Clinton Morrison claimed he would ‘bite your hand off’ if he was Chelsea and Wilson was offered for a fee as low as £18 million.
He said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Chelsea need a centre forward, Cole Palmer is not a centre forward.
“They were linked to Callum Wilson and if you can get him for £18 million, I’d bite your hand off.”

Wilson could be a good short-term option for Chelsea
For fans supporting a side being linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, we’re sure Callum Wilson won’t be appealing at all.
However, the Englishman, branded as ‘underrated‘ by Jermain Defoe, is definitely a better finisher than Nicolas Jackson, who has scored just seven goals in the Premier League this season – three of those came in the same game back in November.
Wilson’s biggest issue has been injuries over the years. However, if Chelsea sign him and can keep him fit until the end of the campaign, we’re sure he will score quite a few goals.
It will be interesting to see what will happen with Wilson this month, but as things stand, it looks like he’s staying at Newcastle United.
