Chelsea have had a strong start to this season under Enzo Maresca.
For the first time in a while, the Blues sit in the top four of the Premier League, and they look good value to maintain their current position.
Of course, the man of the hour at Stamford Bridge right now is Cole Palmer.
The England international bagged four goals at the weekend against Brighton, taking his tally for the season to seven, and it’s fair to say he’s one of the best players in the Premier League right now.
Speaking on the BBC Planet Premier League Podcast, Nedum Onuoha has been discussing Palmer’s rise to prominence.
Onuoha has known of Palmer for a long time due to is time in and around Manchester City, and while he knew he was a decent player, he had no idea he would become this good.

Cole Palmer is better than expected
Onuoha shared his verdict on the Chelsea star’s rise.
“To give him credit, when he left Man City myself and other Man City fans all thought that was a good fee for someone who wasn’t going to be playing,” Onuoha said.
“The work he has done at Chelsea since arriving has been remarkable. As he’s progressed you see what kind of player he is. What I like about him is that he looks for a forward pass first and he looks for a shot first.
“It’s hugely impressive, I didn’t see it coming, the stuff he has done is remarkable, and he is definitely one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment, which isn’t something I was expecting to say in his career, let alone a year and a half after leaving Man City.”
Cole Palmer shocked everyone
It’s fair to say that Onuoha isn’t the only person in football surprised by Palmer’s rise.
The England international has been way better than expected at Chelsea.
In fact, once upon a time, there were claims that £40m was too much money for Palmer, but now, that looks like one of the bargains of the decade.
Palmer is an absolute superstar now, and the fact that he only cost £40m suggests that Manchester City had no idea how good this young man would become.
At the age of just 22, there’s still room for improvement, and the sky may be the limit for Palmer.
