Ray Houghton has told BBC Sport that Antonio Conte was left with his head in his hands and in a state of disbelief after Harry Kane missed his second glorious chance in the second-half of Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with Liverpool on Sunday.
Spurs played out a stunning 2-2 draw with the Reds in North London. It was a notable game for a multitude of reasons. As well as the four goals, there was a red card for Andy Robertson and a number of contentious decisions from Paul Tierney.

But it was also significant as it saw Kane end his recent drought in front of goal. He took his chance brilliantly in the first-half to break the deadlock.
Unfortunately for the striker, he would squander a couple of golden opportunities after the break.
The first came when Dele Alli attempted to slide the ball across the box for Kane. The pass was not the best, but Kane may still feel he could have done better as his attempt to lift the ball over Alisson was blocked.

Moments later, Kane managed to loop a header over the bar from couple of yards out. In fairness, the ball arrived at pace and slightly on the up. However, it was a chance that an in-form Kane would probably gobble up with his eyes closed.
And following the two misses, Houghton suggested that Conte was left almost distraught on the touchline.
“Just looking at Antonio Conte, he has his hands over his face. He can’t believe what he’s seen, the opportunities created and not taken,” he told BBC Sport.
Kane goal could prove pivotal moment for Tottenham under Conte despite misses
Kane did not have the best day in the draw. But crucially, he did score the goal to give Tottenham the lead. And Conte will be hoping that that proves to be the turning point for the striker.
Spurs are right in the mix for the top four despite Kane not firing. If he can find his shooting boots once again, Tottenham will find themselves in an amazing position.
