Barcelona fans react as club reportedly add Leeds boss Bielsa to manager shortlist
Barcelona have reportedly compiled a shortlist of nine managers, including Leeds gaffer Marcelo Bielsa – and Barca fans have had their say on Twitter.
Bielsa, 66, has sparkled in Yorkshire. Taking over in the summer of 2018, he has moulded his Leeds side into a mid-table Premier League club.
Following promotion to the Premier League, Bielsa was voted third in the FIFA Best awards – behind Jurgen Klopp and Hansi Flick in 2020.
Now in his fourth season, Leeds are struggling to maintain their previous form. However, they have reached the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Barcelona, meanwhile, need a new manager. Ronald Koeman is set to be sacked, and only remains while Barcelona find a replacement for him.
Also on the list, are Roberto Martinez, Erik Ten Hag, Antonio Conte, Sergi Barjuan and Albert Capellas. Bielsa is out of contract in June 2022.
The report states that Bielsa could be tempted to leave Leeds if he receives a “good offer” from the Spanish giants, but is happy at Elland Road.
What are Barcelona fans saying about Leeds boss Bielsa?
Steve Bruce’s recent comments on Bielsa sum up why Barcelona want the ex-Argentina, Bilbao, Marseille, Chile, Lazio and Newell’s Old Boys gaffer.
Bruce said that no manager in England has had the impact of Bielsa at Leeds. Not even Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, or Pep Guardiola at Man City.
Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the chances of Bielsa leaving Leeds and taking over at the Nou Camp, as per reports.
