Barcelona are really big fans of ‘unbelievable’ Liverpool defender

Barcelona have a knack of pinching some of Liverpool’s best players over the years.

La Blaugrana have taken the likes of Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Javier Mascherano from Anfield in recent memory, and now, the Spanish giants could be lining up another blockbuster move from Liverpool.

Indeed, according to Tony Evans, speaking on the Walk On Podcast, Barcelona are huge admirers of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Barcelona admire Trent Alexander-Arnold

Evans shared what he’s heard about Barcelona and their interest in the right-back.

“Most certainly, I don’t think Real Madrid have gone any further than admiring, but I’m told that Barcelona are also huge admirers, everyone is slaughtering Zubimendi now, but everyone will be demanding that Trent stays at his boyhood club,” Evans said.

Trent Alexander-Arnold would be perfect for Barcelona

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months, but a move to Barcelona may make a lot more sense.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold feels like more of a Barcelona player than he does a Real Madrid player.

Alexander-Arnold, at his core, is a playmaker with an incredible passing range, and while he’s a right-back, he’s very much cut from that La Masia cloth.

Indeed, in terms of pure attributes, Alexander-Arnold isn’t miles away from a player like Xavi or Pedri, and if Barcelona can embed Alexander-Arnold into their famous style of play, he could be a superstar in La Liga.

The idea of Alexander-Arnold and Lamine Yamal playing down the same flank is mouth-watering to say the least.

Of course, it will take a lot for Alexander-Arnold to consider leaving Liverpool, but if there’s any club in the world that could potentially turn the ‘unbelievable’ defender’s head, it could be Barca.

As Alexander-Arnold heads into the final year of his contract, this could be a situation to keep an eye on.
