Aston Villa transfer: Some Villans fans react to hearing 29-year-old’s on their radar

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Telegraph claiming that the Villans are admirers of Oriol Romeu as they continue to catch the eye in the transfer window.

Villa have made a superb start to the summer. They broke their transfer record to land Emi Buendia. And they have re-signed Ashley Young.

According to The Telegraph, a second bid for Emile Smith Rowe is also on its way. They previously saw a £25 million offer knocked back by Arsenal.

And it seems that they are also looking to strengthen further back. The Telegraph reports that they are admirers of Romeu.

The 29-year-old has been an outstanding performer for Southampton over the last six seasons. And he arguably played some of his best football yet for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side last year.

Admittedly, The Telegraph notes that a deal is unlikely. Of course, the Catalonian is a key man for the Saints.

But it seems that plenty of Villa fans believe that he would be a fantastic signing if there was scope for a move to be done.
