Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement to sign West Bromwich Albion academy star Keilan Quinn.

The Villians have been busy in the final days of the January transfer window, with Unai Emery’s side closing in on deals for Morgan Rogers and Arsenal prospect Lino Sousa.

And it appears that Villa are continuing the youth trend with Quinn, with the midfielder a regular for West Brom’s U-18s this season having made ten appearances for the Baggies.

According to the Atheltic, Villa have reached an agreement with their local rivals for the 16-year-old, with Quinn set to join the Premier League side in a deal worth £1m.

Indeed, Villa are no strangers to poaching West Brom’s best academy players, with the aforementioned Sousa previously on the Championship side’s books before moving to Arsenal.

And it now appears that Villa have managed to secure one of the Baggies best youngsters right from the source, with Quinn set to move to Villa Park.

Villa have taken a smart approach to their January transfers in making deals that will improve the first team whilst also signing youngsters to help bulk out the academy.

And Quinn is no exception, with the 16-year-old midfielder clearly a talented prospect and a player who Villa have been keeping track of for some time.

Whilst not all signings from West Brom end up flourishing at Villa, there’s no denying that the move is a good one for all parties, and Quinn could develop into an exciting talent in the years to come.
