Morgan Rogers is reportedly keen to join Aston Villa, with the Premier League still in talks to sign the Middlesbrough attacker.

The 21-year-old winger has been one of the stars of the Championship this season, with Rogers playing a huge role in Boro’s promotion bid as well as their run to the League Cup semi-finals.

As a result, Villa have taken notice of Rogers, with Unai Emery’s side reportedly already making two bids to sign the Middlesbrough forward, both of which have been rejected.

And according to Sky Sports, the player himself now wants to join the Villa Park side, with Rogers keen to play in the Premier League as well as move closer to his Birmingham-based family.

Indeed, all the signs seem to be aligning for Rogers to eventually join with Villa, especially with the Villians still pushing to sign the Middlesbrough winger.

And this latest update could seal Rogers’ fate as a future Villa player, even if a deal might not be possible this January due to the Championship side’s circumstances.

With Middlesbrough doing all they can to hold onto Rogers for the remainder of the season, Villa have to do all they can to ensure the winger makes the move to the Premier League side this summer.

The 21-year-old has shown in the Championship that he’s ready to make the leap to the English top flight, with Villa clearly big fans of Rogers’ work this season.

And the sooner the Villa Park side can confirm a deal with Rogers, the safer Villa will feel in their planning for next season, which could include a run in the UEFA Champions League.

Although Rogers might not be ready for such a competition, the youngster would still be an excellent long-term addition to Villa’s ranks, and Emery could be an ideal coach to get the best out of the winger.
