David Moyes’s West Ham United are competing with Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea for Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran.

That is according to The Sun, which has reported Villa’s stance on a potential exit for Duran.

So, what has been reported about West Ham United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Jhon Duran? Let’s take a look.

West Ham United want to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran

Well, The Sun has reported that West Ham United and Chelsea are interested in signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

The report has claimed that Chelsea admire Duran. West Ham have made “a surprise inquiry” for the Colombia international forward. The Sun has added that the 20-year-old “wants more game time and may fancy a move” to the Hammers.

However, Villa, who are in the running for the Premier League top four, are unlikely to do any business for Duran unless “there is a big offer rather than a loan deal on the table”.

My View: West Ham United should not sign Jhon Duran

In my view, West Ham United should not sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

I do not think that Duran would make West Ham a better team, at least in the short term.

The Colombia international, who has been linked with AC Milan, is only 20 now and has not really done much of note in the Premier League so far.

Duran has made 26 appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far in his career. The forward has scored two goals in those games.

The striker has not started a single match in the Premier League for the Villans this season. He has made 14 substitute appearances, scoring two goals in those games.
