Chelsea are reportedly internally discussing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran as a potential January signing this month.
The 20-year-old Colombia international has impressed in patches this season under Unai Emery, with the youngster bagging four goals in all competitions for Villa.
However, with Ollie Watkins clearly the leading man for the Premier League title contenders, Duran’s future at Villa is already up in the air just one year after joining the club from the Chicago Fire for £18m.

And according to journalist Nathan Gissing, Chelsea are now internally discussing a potential move for the South American youngster as a short-term option for the striker position.
The Blues have so far failed in their quest this month to sign a world-class centre-forward having been linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
And it now appears that the west London side are beginning to think outside the box, with Duran emerging as an option for Chelsea this month.
Jhon Duran is better off staying at Aston Villa than joining Chelsea

With Villa in the position they’re currently in compared to Chelsea, it seems like a no-brainer that Duran should stay at Villa Park with Emery this month.
Whilst minutes have been hard to come by, there’s no telling how much Duran would play for Chelsea if the Blues were able to strike a deal with Villa for the Colombian youngster.
Moreover, the 20-year-old striker has proven this season to be quite a useful player for Emery as cover for Watkins, who is always at risk of suffering from an injury.
