Aston Villa fans react as Manchester United eye John McGinn
A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from over the weekend claiming that Manchester United have reignited their interest in John McGinn.
Ralf Rangnick is off and running at Old Trafford. United won his first game in charge 1-0, with Fred scoring from distance against Crystal Palace.
Unsurprisingly, it would appear that the club have big plans in the transfer market. And one of the players reportedly on their radar is McGinn.
The Sun notes that Manchester United have previously wanted the Villa star. However, his asking price of £50 million has apparently risen further. It is noted that Sir Alex Ferguson is an admirer of the 27-year-old Scotland international.
Signing McGinn has proved to be a masterstroke for the Villans. He played a key role in getting the side back in the Premier League. And he has remained one of their most consistent and impressive performers in the top flight.
He has three goals and two assists in 14 Premier League games this term. And the Villa supporters are convinced that he is going to be one player who steps up further under the guidance of Steven Gerrard.
Understandably, the reports linking McGinn with an Old Trafford move have not gone down well with supporters. Many have insisted that he would be a huge loss to their side.
‘£35m + VdB’: Aston Villa fans react as Manchester United eye John McGinn
The general feeling appears to be that they should receive something like what they got for Jack Grealish before they agree to let him go. But if they can keep him, they would be absolutely delighted.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Aston Villa fans make of the reports…
The only way McGinn leaves Villa is if Man Utd pays over the odds for him even then it wouldn’t happen until the summer, losing him in January has no chance of happening.

If the money is right, I’d listen he’s not indispensable, however I think he’ll improve under Gerrard

£35m + VdB would be decent business. But I don’t think we’ll sell, especially not in January.

Mcginn is fundamental for us, he’s stepped up this season and under Gerrard he’s only going to get better. No chance he would leave… well I hope not.

No in January. Maybe end of end of season. I would be gutted if it happens

Honestly wouldn’t take 60 million for him…. He’s a work horse and so much more

£75million and they can have him
