Aston Villa are one of the busier clubs so far this summer and it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down any time soon either.
Villa have been active in the market as they look to get their financial house in order and have already completed a number of deals.
The likes of Ian Maatsen, Samuel Illing-Junior and Ross Barkley have all already signed, while Villa have also sold a few, with Douglas Luiz, Morgan Sanson and Tim Iroegbunam all making moves elsewhere.
However, with Champions League football next season, Unai Emery is not resting and is looking to add further depth and quality to the ranks.
And according to reports from Spain, the Villa boss is looking to sign a player who once cost £114m.
Aston Villa could make move to sign Joao Felix
According to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, Villa are in the mix to sign Felix, who is set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
Felix had an underwhelming spell with Chelsea in England but is still seen as a top talent.

Indeed, it’s reported that Villa are pushing to sign Felix on the advice of Emery, who apparently believes he can get the very best out of Felix if he does sign.
Felix, still only 24, has not quite shone as much as he’d have liked since he get his mega-money move to Atletico from Benfica.
However, Emery and Villa could offer him yet another chance of getting his career back on track.
It’s suggested that Villa have the financial power to make a deal work, given Felix is on huge wages over in Spain.
Atletico have previously asked for around £77m to let Felix go but given that was last summer, the fee could be significantly less this summer.
Lauded as a ‘world-class’ talent, there is clearly a player in there with Felix and as Emery has proved at Villa, he does have a knack of getting players to levels not seen before.
Felix, then, is a player Villa fans will be excited to see if he does indeed arrive.
