Arzani must get chance to prove himself at Celtic on the back of Australia cameo

Earlier this week, it came to light that Celtic loanee Daniel Arzani may be set for a swift return to Manchester City.

Reports claimed the Australian international would be free to go back to the Etihad Stadium if he did not make a league appearance before the end of November.

After a shambolic transfer window, Brendan Rodgers needs the players that he did manage to get through the door to contribute.

But he is not giving Arzani a proper chance to do that; so the Aussie must go and prove that at international level.

That’s exactly what Arzani has done. He was handed a 25 minute cameo in the 4-0 win over Kuwait on Monday night and impressed fans with his performance.

Australia are a side in need of greater creativity and general freshening up and that’s exactly what Arzani provided as a sub.

Now it’s time for Rodgers to offer him the chance to do the same at club level. Celtic need a spark from somewhere; something a bit different to bring them to life and belatedly kickstart their season.

If Rodgers carries on ignoring Arzani, he won’t have him for much longer. It makes sense to turn to him now.
