Arthur applauds Gabriel Jesus on Instagram after Arsenal beat Chelsea
Arthur Melo was amongst those to applaud Gabriel Jesus on Instagram after the Arsenal striker’s performance in their latest pre-season friendly overnight.
Jesus continues to whet the appetite of Arsenal fans ahead of the new campaign. He has been in blistering form for Mikel Arteta’s men following his big-money move from Manchester City.
And he bagged another goal on Saturday as Arsenal thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in Orlando. Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga got the other goals for the Gunners.
But it really appears that Arsenal may have produced a masterstroke bringing the Brazilian to the club. And he may not be the last who arrives at the Emirates.
Of course, reports have suggested that Arsenal are in talks to sign Arthur. The 25-year-old was a player Edu nearly signed during the January transfer window.
Arsenal’s need to sign a new midfielder has diminished with the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko. But the links with Arthur look unlikely to go anywhere as the transfer deadline looms.
Some Arsenal fans would be delighted to see Arthur working in the same side as Jesus. And he was amongst those to praise the striker on social media with a wordless reply to his latest post…
Arthur praises Gabriel Jesus amid Arsenal links
Arsenal will probably feel that they do not necessarily need to sign another player in this window. They have done some outstanding business and addressed a number of potential weaknesses.
Having said that, Arthur is an ‘incredible‘ talent. He has not shown his best with Juventus and Barcelona. But it says a lot that those two sides have signed him.
If a loan deal is possible, Arsenal may be tempted to get the move done.
