Arsenal willing to sanction expensive loan deal for their £20m player as Riccardo Calafiori deal nears

Arsenal are close to sealing a deal to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and could now sanction a pricey loan deal for one of the current squad.

The Gunners are close to signing Calafiori after reaching a breakthrough in talks over the weekend.

Calafiori’s signing will be a relief for Mikel Arteta, who has been keen to bring in a new defender this summer to really bolster the left-hand side.

However, while Calafiori’s incoming will be welcomed by most, it does mean others within the Arsenal camp might find themselves surplus to requirements.

Bringing in new players always runs the risk of others being shifted out of the picture.

And according to reports from Italy, Arsenal are now willing to sanction a loan deal to allow Jakub Kiwior to move on.

Arsenal willing to loan Jakub Kiwior with Inter Milan keen

According to a report from TuttoJuve, Arsenal are willing to let Kiwior go now that Calafiori appears to be close to being wrapped up.

It’s suggested that Inter Milan are keen on doing a deal for Kiwior and that Arsenal are open to a loan deal – at a price – which would also include a future purchase clause.

Inter’s interest in Kiwior is nothing brand new, of course.

However, they will be encouraged by the fact that Arsenal are now landing a replacement and that will give them hope that a deal can be done.

For Kiwior, it represents a bit of a blow given he’s not really had the chance to prove himself too much since signing for £20m back in the January of 2023.

However, it does at least seem like the Polish defender will have plenty of options.

As well as Inter, Sevilla have also expressed an interest in Kiwior, while Juventus are also believed to have shown a desire to bring him back to Italy.
