Fabrizio Romano has told the Don Robbie Youtube channel that only a ‘crazy’ bid from Arsenal would be enough to see them sign Lautaro Martinez.
Ambitious target
The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal are keen on the Inter Milan striker, in what looks like a hugely ambitious move.
But Romano has suggested that any deal could be extremely difficult for the Gunners to actually pull off.
“I don’t see Lautaro Martinez not playing Champions League. He wants to play Champions League football, and I think it will be really difficult,” he said.
“I’m told Inter have not received anything from Arsenal, not even talks – not just official bids.
“At the moment there is nothing from Lautaro for Arsenal. But if a crazy bid will arrive for Arsenal, maybe they will consider something.
“But what they say is Lautaro and Lukaku will stay at Inter.
“If something crazy will happen with English clubs then maybe something could change, but as of today there is nothing advanced.”
Messi praise
If ever there was a player worth spending ‘crazy’ money on, then Martinez could be it for Arsenal.

He is such a talented striker than even Lionel Messi has gone on record to call him spectacular in Mundo Deportivo.
Martinez hit 17 goals in Serie A last season, with his partnership with Romelu Lukaku driving Inter Milan to the title.
If he was brought to Arsenal his aggression combined with his clinical finishing would give them a new edge up-front.
But given his exorbitant price tag, it seems unlikely that Edu and Mikel Arteta will be able to complete a deal in the near future.
