Report: Arsenal put 'unbelievable' £67m attacker top of their list, weeks after sending scouts to watch him
Arsenal will try again to sign Roma striker, Tammy Abraham, this summer, just a year or so after missing out on the England international.
Abraham has had an explosive season over in the Italian capital, scoring more than 20 goals and thriving under former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho. As we know, Arsenal tried to sign Abraham last year, with the striker even admitting recently that a deal was on the table.
And now, according to The Sun, Abraham has joined Manchester City ace Gabriel Jesus at the top of the list of strikers the Gunners want to sign this summer. Reports have claimed Abraham could cost as much as £67m now.
7 Greatest Premier League Strikers of All Time
Arsenal are desperate to get a number nine in the building this summer. They spent all of January chasing Dusan Vlahovic, only for the Serbian to sign for Juventus ahead of the Gunners. That has led to some frustrating among Arsenal fans, with many citing their lack of striker as key to missing out on the top four.
Of course, Abraham could help solve that issue. The former Chelsea man is thriving in Italy and could be ready to come back and show the Premier League what they’re missing, especially in a World Cup year.
The Gunners are said to have sent scouts to watch Abraham just a few weeks ago.
TBR’s View: Tammy Abraham Makes Arsenal A Different Team
It’s baffling Arsenal didn’t sign him anyway so if the chance is there again this summer, then the Gunners have to do it.
Abraham incorporates everything they want in a striker. He’s big, powerful, and has a turn of pace, but crucially knows where the net is. He’s also got Premier League experience, and looks a better player for a season in Italy as well.
Yes, more than £60m would be a big purchase. But Arsenal need a striker, and the ‘unbelievable‘ Tammy Abraham could solve a lot of problems for Mikel Arteta.
