Arsenal transfer news: Teenager reportedly holds talks with Premier League rival after rejecting new Gunners deal

Daniel Oyegoke could be offered the chance to stay in the Premier League in the transfer window, with the Daily Mail reporting that the former Arsenal starlet has held talks with Brentford.

According to the Daily Mail, the 18-year-old left the Gunners last week. It is claimed that he had been offered a professional deal in North London.

Oyegoke made 11 appearances in Premier League 2 last season. He predominantly played as a centre-back, but he also featured in both full-back roles.

So Arsenal will certainly be disappointed to see him move on. And perhaps they soon could be made to rue his exit even more.

Of course, Thomas Frank’s side are gearing up for their debut season in the Premier League after winning the play-off final.

They actually begin the season with a home game against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Brentford to succeed with Oyegoke in the transfer window where they fell short with fellow Arsenal youngster Balogun?

The Bees have been superb at uncovering seriously talented players and giving them the platform to kick on in recent years.

One of the players the club were heavily linked with not too long ago was Folarin Balogun.

It was claimed by the Daily Mail last year that a £5 million bid for the striker had been made.

At the time, there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding Balogun’s future in North London.

Obviously, the striker has since penned a new deal at the Emirates. And it would appear that he may be set for a much more prominent role in Arteta’s plans next year.

Oyegoke has opted for a different path. And perhaps, he could end up joining one of Arsenal’s top flight rivals – judging by the latest reports.
