The Polish defender played a big part in the World Cup and Arsenal have moved quickly to sign him. He is expected to challenge Gabriel in defence, with his left-foot being a big draw.

And weighing in on the deal even further in the last few months, journalist Fabrizio Romano has now said on Twitter that documents have now been signed between Arsenal and Kiwior to complete the transfer.

Kiwior will become the Gunners’ second signing of the week although unlike Trossard, there’s no chance he features against Man United this weekend.

The big Polish defender, 22, will be yet another young player for Mikel Arteta to work with. The Arsenal board are backing their manager, who has led them to top of the table.

Kiwior will hope to get minutes before the season finishes. He’ll be well aware that Gabriel is ahead. But with Champions League football next season, Kiwior knows chances will come in the future.

TBR’s View: Kiwior looks another solid Arsenal signing

The Gunners are getting so much right in the market right now that you have to simply take your hat off to them.

They are moving for young, hungry players and doing it at the right time. January is vital for them to get things right.

Kiwior, who has been impressive over in Italy, ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal. They’ve made a habit of signing young players who can improve further. They have one of the best centre-backs at a young age in William Saliba already.

Kiwior, then, simply adds to what is now looking a really strong Arsenal squad.
