Arsenal are yet to secure their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Indeed, the Gunners haven’t made any new signings yet, but they do have a few key targets in their sights.
Martin Zubimendi is reportedly set for Arsenal, while Arsenal are keen on Benjamin Sesko as a new striker.
A new centre-forward is a priority for Arsenal this summer, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Alex Crook has shared some insight into the Gunners’ transfer plans.
According to the journalist, there’s still a chance that Arsenal could go in for Ollie Watkins, claiming that he has a nagging feeling about that deal.

Arsenal could go for Ollie Watkins
Crook spoke about Arsenal’s transfer plans.
The journalist says Arsenal are juggling deals for both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres right now, but he still has a lingering feeling that Ollie Watkins could come in to their thinking.
Arsenal bid for Watkins in January, and a summer deal isn’t out of the question.
“We know they’re juggling deals for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres as well, but they won’t pay over the odds. I do wonder, I just have a nagging feeling that they might even try again for Ollie Watkins having had a bid for him turned down late in the winter window,” Crook said.
Ollie Watkins compared to Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal are currently prioritising a move for Benjamin Sesko, but there’s an argument to be made that the Gunners should be in for Watkins instead.
Indeed, when you look at the stats, the £33m man outshines Sesko in many key areas.
| Ollie Watkins | Benjamin Sesko | |
| 38 | Games | 33 |
| 16 | Goals | 13 |
| 8 | Assists | 5 |
Of course, if you’re planning long-term, which Arsenal usually are, going for the 22-year-old Sesko may be the better option, but if the Gunners are eyeing a short-term boost for their title chances, Watkins may be the answer.
Whether or not Arsenal get either of these deals done remains to be seen, but luckily, it looks like the Gunners may finally be set to land a new number nine this summer.
