Report: 'Amazing' player Arteta is desperate for Arsenal to sign now has his heart set on move elsewhere
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, might be desperate for the Gunners to sign Renato Sanches this summer, but it appears the midfielder has eyes elsewhere.
As reported on TBR last month, reports from France had claimed that Sanches was a number one priority signing for Arteta and Arsenal this summer. Of course, interest in the former Swansea City loanee is nothing new in England. Both Liverpool and the Gunners are known to have watched him for some time.
However, any hopes Arsenal might have had of landing Sanches appear to be fading quickly. Football Italia has reported how AC Milan believe they’ve moved a step closer to sealing a deal for the Lille man this summer.
What On Earth Is Going On At Bordeaux?
It’s claimed by the report that Milan and Sanches have held discussions in the last few days and that there is a belief from both sides that a deal can be done quickly. The midfielder will earn less than £5m-a-year, per the report.
News of Sanches’ apparent desire to move to Milan will be a blow for Arteta. The Gunners boss is desperate to add a few more pieces to the puzzle this summer, with Sanches a key target.
TBR’s View: Sanches Not Coming To Arsenal Not The End Of The World
Renato Sanches is a good player but let’s be honest, he’s never quite lived up to the hype. He was originally meant to be a world beater in the making, but we all saw through spells with Bayern and that ill-fated dabble in Swansea that he had improvements to be made.
Of course, since then, he has improved. But there are others out there for Arsenal, and losing out on Sanches isn’t a game-changing issue.
Edu and Arteta will have other targets. Sanches would slot in nicely for Arsenal. However, others will do the same job, and it’s simply down to the club to land them.
