Arsenal remain keen on landing a big name striker this summer and one name who hasn’t gone away since January is that of Real Sociedad star, Alexander Isak.
Isak was on the Gunners’ list of targets in January as Mikel Arteta and Edu tried to get a deal over the line for a new number nine. Of course, nothing came of that push, and Arsenal are now expected to go big in the summer months to get their man.

And according to Football.London, Sociedad star Isak remains an option. The Swedish forward is one of the most in-demand players in Spain, despite his actual goalscoring record not being too good. He has just nine goals to his name this term, with 42 in 124 games overall for the Spanish side.
Isak is thought to have a release-clause of around £67m in his contract and Newcastle United are also known to have shown an interest in him.
Labelled as ‘exceptional’ for his performances in Euro 2020, Isak is still just 22 and fits firmly into the category of player Arsenal are signing of late.
TBR’s View: Isak Is Not The Finished Article Just Yet But Arteta Will Like That Aspect
Similar to his former boss at Man City, Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta is high on coaching his players to become better than they are already. So while Isak might not have the most prolific record of them all, his age means there is potential for Arteta to improve him.
Isak did well in the Euros and he is a threat. He has good pace and is a decent height too, allowing him to score different types of goals. Yes, £67m might seem a lot, but that is just the going rate for top level strikers now.
Arsenal face a huge decision in getting the right number nine this summer. Isak, then, is a good option for them to consider.
