Arsenal’s summer transfer window did take a little bit of patience to see it take off this summer but it finally did so with the signing of Riccardo Calafiori.
Clearly, this is not going to be a summer where Arsenal bring in a large number of players with a focus being on quality rather than quantity.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have not been able to add to their Italian defender since he signed just under two weeks ago.
But there is still one Premier League player who the north London side are keen to bring through the doors before the deadline at the end of the month.

Arsenal eyeing Premier League ‘leader’ before deadline day
Quality over quantity, that is what Arsenal look to be striving for this summer and it is a transfer method which will certainly test the patience of the fans.
But when Arsenal are able to bring in players like Calafiori, the transfer strategy makes a lot of sense.
And the Gunners are trying to build on the signing of the Italian as Arsenal look to tie up a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino.
But the Spain international is not the only player who Arsenal are looking to add to their squad this summer.
According to TalkSPORT, Arsenal are still keen to make their move for the Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Bentley over the coming weeks.
Arsenal have already made a bid to sign Bentley earlier in the window with a cheeky £50k offer on the table.
Naturally, that was very quickly batted away by the Old Gold who are keen to keep ahold of their number two.
But with Aaron Ramsdale potentially leaving Arsenal this summer, the Gunners are expected to find themselves in a position needing a new backup goalkeeper.
Dan Bentley’s Premier League experience may be a concern
It does appear that Ramsdale is in desperate need of a move away from north London following the signing of David Raya.
For a goalkeeper who is battling to become England’s number one, playing just six times in the Premier League last season simply is not enough.
However, in Bentley Arsenal could be landing a goalkeeper who has only made seven Premier League appearances over his career.
The 31-year-old has been hailed as a ‘leader‘ on the pitch, but Arsenal could be taking a big risk which could be exposed if Raya was to pick up a serious injury.
