Arsenal starlet Khayon Edwards says on Twitter he's undergone surgery
Arsenal youngster Khayon Edwards has confirmed on Twitter that he has undergone successful surgery after being stretchered off while playing for the under-21s earlier this month.
Edwards is one of a number of youngsters working hard to force their way into the first-team fold at the Emirates. He was named on the bench by Mikel Arteta for the Europa League games against Bodo/Glimt and PSV Eindhoven.
He is still awaiting the chance to make his senior debut. But he has scored three times for the under-21s in Premier League 2. Unfortunately, his most recent appearance came to an end prematurely.

It was reported that Edwards was stretchered off during a clash with Stoke City. It was a game in which he scored for the Gunners.

Of course, it is difficult to know how much of an impact this injury will have on Edwards while it is unclear just how long he will be sidelined for.
But it is promising news that the surgery did go well.
Obviously, Arsenal’s progress in the Premier League is not ideal for the young players looking to make their mark in the first-team.
The standards have increased. And it appears that they are very much in a title race this season. They also have the knockout stages of the Europa League ahead.
But Edwards is one of a number of players knocking on the door with their performances for the under-21s. And the club will be hopeful that that will be the case once he is back fit.
